The Empirical Study Of Xining City Competitiveness

In recent years, Along with the economic globalization and regional integration development, City competitiveness has become a hot issue in the theory and pracfice. Objective and accurate positioning of urban development to find effective ways to improve urban competitiveness has been valued by more and more cities managers. As the capital of Qinghai Province, Xining City, due to many limited factors of geographical location, natural environment, the infrastructure development, it has lagged far behind with other capital cities in the long-term development, facing the new round of developing the western region of the country’s historical opportunity, whether Xining can seize the opportunity to enhance urban competitiveness, and achieving its own leapfrog development is particularly important.This paper will describe the current situation of urban competitiveness at home and abroad, the concept of urban competitiveness and the relevant theoretical basis of urban competitiveness, it objectively evaluated the whole competitiveness of Xining City, through rational analysis of hard strength of Xining city competitiveness, such as human resources, financial capital, science and technology, integrated district positioning, economic structure, infrastructure, ecological environment, and including the soft strength such as cultural basis, economic system, government management, and the current situation of competitive elements of business management and opening-up, thus scientifically orientate the development goals of Xining city competitiveness, propose the countermeasures and suggestions on improving Xining city competitiveness, and provide a theoretical reference for the realization of scientific urban orientation.
