Project management involves the owner, the engineering company, the construction company, the supervisor and other multi-stakeholders. Many aspects such as the project cost, quality, schedule, equipment, materials, procurement and transportation, need to be dealt with and coordinated. For large and complex projects, the management and particularly construction process involves heavy task, short construction period, multiple involved industries and disciplines, and multiple cross-operation. As a consequence, it is very difficult to achieve the expected project goal if the project management only depends on traditional manual method. Thereinto, the level of information management directly determines the level of project management.Based on the complex, comprehensive, integrated and other problems of engineering project’s information management, the thesis comprehensively applies the information management theory, engineering project management theory and relative enterprise management theory; and makes design and research for information management integrated platform of Changtian International Engineering Co., Ltd (CIE for short), by adopting case study, aiming at improvement of the information management level of engineering enterprises.Firstly, the thesis makes survey about engineering project information management of CIE, finding that the present information system could not meet the requirements for the large complex EPC project. To build information integrated platform, based on the present information comprehensive platform, is the demand of ensuring the company’s project management operation efficiently, promoting the company infomatization level and participating in international competition, and also is the objective requirement of the present economic environment development. Secondly, by analyzing the informatization status quo of engineering project management in CIE, the thesis puts forward the optimization thoughts:realization of the enterprise’s information resource share as the foundation; improvement of project management level as the focus; promotion of management, operation capacity and production efficiency as the target; and finally realizing enterprise decision support management system. Next, on the basis of the features of EPC project management, the thesis designs relevant information sub systems from three stages:engineering, procurement, construction, and their integration, and carries out the design of information integrated platform for CIE engineering project management. Finally, the thesis presents the implementation scheme, supporting measures and risk control measures. The thesis argues that the implementation of CIE’s engineering project information management platform should establish a three levels project team:a leading team, project implementing team and functional team, and should make out detailed implementation scheme. During the implementation, the project plan, schedule control and project acceptance inspection should be carried out effectively. Meanwhile the management risk, software risk and implementation risk should be controlled.
