The Impact And Countermeasures Of Global Value Chain On Independent Innovation In Chinese Enterprises

Xiaoping Deng put forward the viewpoint that’science and technology are the primary productive forces’according to the need of the development of the economic situation in1980s. Since the new century, science and technology have become the determinant of the economic development. And the independent innovation capability, as a tool to promote the progress of science and technology, is also increasingly become the main factor to measure the core competitiveness all over the world. In the global value chain, the international division of labor becomes more refined, and originally production is dispersed to different countries with different comparative advantages. At the same time, the essential productive factors (developer, capital, technology, etc) also broke through the obstacle of national production distribution to flow freely in the world, and that is undoubtedly an important way for the developing countries to achieve technology progress. As a manufacturing power in the world, our Chinese enterprises have also embedded into global value chain with initiative or passivity in the system of labor division. In this context, the research about the impact of global value chain on independent innovation in Chinese enterprises has very important practical significance for government and enterprises to formulate influence effective measures. Therefore, this article takes this idea as our main theme to make analysis, which is expected to provide certain reference value for government and enterprises.This paper firstly finds the gap of domestic research through clarifying existing research. And then analyze the impact of global value chain on independent innovation in Chinese enterprises from the type of global value chain on the base of summarizing the present situation of embedded global value chain and independent innovation. The results of the study show that the global value chain has the promoting function to independent innovation in Chinese enterprise. But this effect goes up firstly and then drops down, and the whole effect has weakened to some extent. As for the impact of different global value chain types on independent innovation, we find that the producers driven model of global value chain has promoting function to enterprises’independent innovation and the buyers driven model of global value chain has the inhibition function. Finally, in order to make the Chinese enterprises grasp the opportunity of globalization and carry on the independent innovation activities, this paper put forward some concrete measures from the enterprise and government aspects.
