| The contribution of industrial cluster towards local economics becomes increasingly important these days especially under the circumstance of economic globalization. Therefore, this issue has been broadly investigated by many researchers as well as the government. The competitiveness and innovative potentials associate with industrial cluster will have significant effect on its formation and development. In this situation, the research of the competitive advantages and innovative potentials regarding the industrial cluster of Cenghai toy industry will to a certain instant enrich the industrial cluster theory and therefore promote the development of the local toy industry.Literature review, questionnaire and statistic analysis are the main research methodologies adopted in this study. The literature review will comprise of local economics, industrial organization and various theory related to industrial cluster.Firstly, this article analyzes the currently development of Cenghai Toy Industry Cluster based on the government report, statistical yearbook and the national economic data. Questionnaire will then be designed to collect the opinions from different parties regarding the competitive advantages and innovative potential of Chenghai Toy Industrial Cluster.85out of100sets of the questionnaires have been returned while factor analysis of these questionnaires has been conducted in Section4of this paper. This section will also employ fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to further investigate this issue.The outcomes of this research include the following three items:1) The total income of a company has a positive relationship with its innovative potential while the soft and hard power as well as the competence of the company’s managers will not show an obvious relationship with it.2) The determinative factors of the competitiveness for a company include the company’s cash flow, market share, human resource development, resource achievability and the innovative environment within the company. On the other hand, the major influential factors of the company’s innovative potential will be the company culture, technical background, investment on research and the cooperation with foreign companies.3) Chenghai Toy Industrial Cluster is in the leading position within China and even worldwide in terms of different aspects including cash flow, market share, company’s innovative culture and technical background.Section5of this article further analyzes the influential factors of the competitive advantages and innovative potentials of Chenghai Toy Industrial Cluster. Furthermore, suggestion on how to promote the development of this industrial cluster has also been provided to the companies, local government and intermediary agent in this section. |
