The Research Of Economic Development In Coal Resources Regions Based County

Since the reform and opening-up in China, the economy and social development have made remarkable achievements. The long-term ongoing exploitation and utilization of coal resources has made great contribution to the economical growth but also has produced a group of regions whose development is highly reliable on coal resources. As the major energy, coal takes70%in the primary energy which may decline dramatically with an increasing proportion of new energy. However, it still remains the status as the main energy in China for quite a long period in the future. The Twelfth Five-Year plan of the development of the coal industry indicates, by the end of2010, there have been1341.2billion tons of coal reserves in China. In the year of2010, china had the most increase in coal production and consumption. What’s more, the coal consumption in China will continue to increase with the continued economic growth. The plan, points out that China has low per capita coal recoverable reserves, only2/3of the world. It is hard to support social and economic long-term development through this way of resource exploitation and utilization. With the sustainable development being the guidance for the economic growth, resources utilization and environmental protection, the survival and development of resource-relied regions are confronted with new challenges, which are also directly related to the overall situation in sustainable development in our country.As one of the main researches of the regional economy, the county economy researches become a highlight and hot topic of the development in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period. The Twelfth Five-Year Plan also sets higher requirements to the county economy development, especially, to the increase of economic vitality. The county economy in coal resource relied regions, as a particular form of the county economy in China has played an important part in the process of industrialization. Meanwhile, it has brought about many contradictions and problems in its process of development, which consequently exerts great impact on the sustainable development of the economy and social harmony and stability. Therefore, it is of vital significance for the research of the sustainable development of county economy in coal resources relied regions, which in turn helps the realization of comprehensive, coordinative and sustainable development of county economy and the realization of the sound and fast national economic growth so as to exhibit the great vitality of the socialist market economy.This paper takes Fengtai-a county in coal resource region for instance. It consists of5parts. Part1is the introduction including the background, significance and domestic and foreign studies of this research. Part2is the main variables over recent decade of the developmental level, the speed of development, industrial structure, investment and consumption, the income of urban and rural residents. These variables are revealed through the detailed analysis based on the status quo and characteristics of the economic development in Fengtai County. Part3:the present situation and characteristics of county economy in Fengtai is delineated via vertical and horizontal contrasts. Part4is the analysis of SWOT of county economy in Fengtai. The prominent contradictions and problems through the positive and negative analysis make it quite necessary for the transformation of economic growth mode, which pave a way for the proposal of economic development strategy. Part5is the strategies and suggestions for the promotion of transformation of growth mode in the county economy, which includes economic and social transformation and coordinating urban-rural development.
