With the development of China’s automobile industry, auto manufacturers have made great progress in product design and research. Auto after-sales service is a important part of the Product Lifecycle Management, but there are always some problems in China’s auto after-sales market, such as the backwardness of maintenance equipment, the construction of service network, the professionalism of the maintenance staff is not high,.Maintenance is the most important part of the after-sale service, the lack of professional maintenance staff serious effect fault diagnosis and repair efficiency. How to make the maintenance staff to quickly master the repair skills and knowledge has a certain significance.According to the status of the target enterprise, the new demanding of the after-sales service, and the current informatization of the enterprise, based on the after-sales service system and quality management systems, combined with the domain expert knowledge and related technical information, establish a product service-oriented knowledge base system.Based on the Fault Tree Analysis, analyze automobiles’common failure phenomenon. Automotive engine’s failure rate is high, so take engine as an example. In order to ensure the integrity of the fault tree, the main components of the engine were analyzed by FMEA method, established fault trees which had great influence to the safety performance and economic performance to the vehicle. And quantitative analyze the fault trees, according to the engine maintenance history statistics, qualitative analyze the fault trees, calculate the events important degree of fault trees. Introduce the fault tree analysis to the knowledge engineering, raised a concept that fault tree analysis as knowledge source, use the combination of rules and framework knowledge representation method. After research the rule and framework reasoning mechanism, raised a fault tree qualitative analyze reasoning mechanism, determine the search priority by the fault tree quantitative analysis to improve search efficiency. And apply the reasoning mechanism to the knowledgebase, to smart the knowledgebase system.Consider the knowledgebase system functionality, scalability, and maintainability requirements, analyze the current commonly used software patterns, realized the Product Service Knowledgebase System. By the Knowledgebase System, achieved the knowledge sharing, improved the efficiency of fault diagnosis and maintenance of quality, and effectively reduced revision rate.
