Evaluation Research Of Coordinated Development Between The Ecological Security And Tourism Economy Of Island Tourist Destination

China has an abundance of islands resources, which have been one of the most attractive tourist destinations because of their beautiful natural scenery and ecological environment of high quality with the rapid development of tourism..Thus, most of the coastal regions in China have paid considerable attention to the energy-efficient way for island tourism development and relevant policies were also introduced to make promotion. Despite all these efforts, being an fragile ecosystem, due to its relatively closed geographical environment and limited natural conditions, island tourism development is still an hot issue Under excessive or other inappropriate exploitation, the island ecosystems could reflect a series of irreversible negative effects and even been damaged, which in turn will impede the further development of island tourism.Literature review has summarized the progresses of the ecological security of tourist destination and sustainable development of tourism both within China and under international level. Based on the profound understanding of connotation of ecological security of the island tourism, from the particularity perspective of the ecological system, the interaction of the ecological environment and tourism economy is analyzed using coordinated degree theory. The results demonstrate that dialectical relationships were identified between the ecological environment system and the tourism development system. They are mutually promoting while mutually restraint. Ecological environment system is the energy and resource basis of tourism development system while tourism development system improves and enhances the quality of ecological environment of tourist destination by increasing investment, application of advanced technology and the adoption of environmental conservational conceptBased on the analysis of interaction between the ecological security and tourism economy, the ecological safety index system of island tourism and the development assessment index system of island tourism economy were established respectively. Considering the reasons of the island ecosystem degradation,22indexes were selected to establish the island tourism ecological security assessment index system with the respect of pressure, state and response, which is called PSR model in earlier literature. And considering the scale, benefit and potential of the tourism economic development,16indicators were selected to make a comprehensive evaluation system of the island tourism economy development level based on the tourism economic and social benefits, reception capacity and market development ability.In empirical research of this paper, we took the famous tourist destination, Zhoushan Islands as a study area. And11years’data from2000to2010were selected, which covered the "fifteenth five-year plan" and "eleventh five-year plan" in time scale. The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) The ecological security assessment index and the comprehensive index of tourism economic development of the Zhoushan Islands was rising generally during2000-2010. The ecological security index rose from0.380in2000to0.732in2010. And the tourism economic development comprehensive index rose from0.309in2000to0.937in2010. Furthermore, the tourism economic comprehensive index rose faster than ecological safety comprehensive index which indicated that the ecological quality hasn’t kept up the rapid development tempo of the tourism economy.(2) The coordinated development degree varied in the range of0.587-0.913, and increased year by year during2000-2010. The coordinated development situation of regional ecological security system and tourism economy system in general was under a relatively stable upward trend, but there were some differences between the coordinated development type and coordinated development level. According to the results, The coordinated development type in2000was the reluctant coordinated level, primary coordinated level. good coordinated level and excellent coordinated level were identified during2000,2001-2005,2007-2009and respectively.
