With the continuous development of science and technology, the food isbecoming more diverse and increases in varieties. The accelerated process ofeconomic globalization has promoted the further expansion of international food trade.In recent years, food safety incidents have erupted constantly in some countries andregions in the world, such as Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD),Dioxin,Mad cowdisease (BSE),Avian influenza (Avian Flu),and so on. The concern about the foodsafety from the international community is gradually strengthened. In2011majordomestic media have reported a series of food safety incidents. They not only werebad for people’s health, but also caused huge economic losses.In recent years, the domestic food and feed industry developed rapidly and itsdemand for various types of corn refinery products continues to increase. Cornrefinery industry has the vast production area, large numbers of employees andcomplex products as well as large customer base span, which brought many newchallenges for the management of food safety. How to establish an effective,applicable food safety hazard control system which is combined with industrycharacteristics and to develop new food safety risk control measures and ultimately toensure the physical, chemical and biological hazards in food at an acceptable level isthe problem that the food safety practitioners have been thinking.It is such a context which expands the study on the CB food safety risk andhazard control management. CB Company is the large corn refinery enterprisesinvested by the world’s largest agricultural processors in China. In more than tenyears of running process, the company has always been to uphold the high standardsof food safety management requirements. Combined with the characteristics of theirindustries, it continues to improve its food safety hazard control system, develop newfood safety risk control measures, and has become the preferred supplier of the raw materials of the world’s leading food companies. The purpose of this paper is tointroduce the food safety hazard control system and some new risk control measuresincluding zoning, reliability centered maintenance based on food safety risk, nearmiss observation and APOLLO root cause analysis to provide experience for therelated state-owned and private enterprises, thus to take a step forward to enhancefood safety management level of the corn refinery industry as a wholeThe innovation of the article is that the theories of reliability centeredmaintenance and behaviors safety are applied to food safety management areas. Itwould be to provide some new ideas, measures and methods to control food safetyrisks. The deficiency of this study is that the appropriate risk control measures of foodsafety taken by supplier have not been studied.
