| With the development of economic globalization and regionalization, the leading function to the region economy of the port is very apparent. The port has become the growth point of region economy development, which leads to increasing competition among ports. Each port has to confirm their competitors and strengthen their core advantages to formulate the targeted development strategy. So it is critical to guide each port found their competitive advantages through reasonable and scientific competitiveness evaluation.Although the existing port competitiveness evaluation system can reflect the strength of the port, it is still lack of effective guidance in real development. This is due to the large number of cargo type, while the cargo of groceries and container, domestic and foreign trade are in difference from the characteristics. So it is impossible to reflect the true core-competitiveness and weak field of port clearly only by comprehensive evaluation system. In result, it is hard to formulate the development strategy of the port. So it is very necessary to analyze the competitors based on different type of cargoes, establish branch of goods and different types of competitiveness evaluation system.Based on the domestic and foreign container transportation characteristics, the paper carry out competitiveness evaluation research on the two part of foreign trade container port competition and domestic container port competitiveness. Through a large number of literature study, related information collecting, a combination of experts’ opinion, the paper constructs a container port competitiveness evaluation system basing on the domestic and foreign trade transport characteristics, taking Liaoning port as an example. Via the study of the different situation of Dalian Port, Yingkou port, Jinzhou port and Dandong port, this paper constructs the evaluation model and applies this model to do a research on these container ports, using principal component analysis method and cluster analysis method. And the result conforms to the actual situation. Finally, combining with the comprehensive results of the evaluation system, the paper puts forward some suggestions on how to enhance the competitiveness of Liaoning container ports. |
