Research About Eco-Efficiency And Environmental Pressure Of Industrial Systems In Sichuan Province

Sustainable Development refers to coordinated development of Economic, social, resources and environment. It’s the basic requirement of the Outlook of Scientific Development. It’s one-sided to make focus only on environmental protection or economic development. This article established two index systems named Eco-Efficiency and Pressure on the Environment, which measuring relationship between economy and environment. By the index systems, we can analyze the Sustainable Development of Industrial System in Sichuan.This article selects Industrial System in Sichuan as object of study, accounts the main resource, integrated energy and water resources of input and discharge of pollutants of output by material flow approach with the national pollutant census data in2007and2009. This article established Eco-Efficiency index systems which contain major resource efficiency, comprehensive energy efficiency, water Efficiency, environmental efficiency, and established Pressure on the Environment index systems which contain energy consumption pressure, resource consumption pressure, water consumption pressure, pollutant discharge pressure. Calculate the size of Eco-Efficiency, Pressure on the Environment and coupling relationship between economic development and pressure on the environment of Industrial System in Sichuan. Study obtained that promotion of environmental efficiency is far more than other efficiency indicators, but energy efficiency, resource efficiency and water efficiency also have some promotion. Eco-Efficiency has a good development. Water consumption pressure and pollutant discharge pressure is smaller and have a good relationship with economic development. Energy consumption pressure is comparatively large and has bad collaborative with economic development. Resource consumption pressure is showing the phenomenon of polarization. Eco-Efficiency and Pressure on the Environment have obvious geographical differences. Eco-Efficiency, Pressure on the Environment and coupling relationship between economic development and pressure on the environment in different city is quite different. Different industries have different performance because of their different character.
