Temporal Distribution Characteristics And Cause Analysis Of Tourist Flow In Sichuan Province

Sichuan province attracts millions of tourists every year for its resource advantage. However, the uneven time distribution of tourist flow and the prominent tourism seasonality seriously affects the development of tourism. This paper comparatively analyzes the temporal distribution characteristic of inbound and domestic tourist flows by using the theory of tourist flow, tourism seasonality, tourism marketing, location theory and other multi-disciplinary behavior theory, combining qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis, through analysis of tourist flow concentration, scene preference, and competitive analysis. Then, the causes are revealed. At the end, countermeasures are put forward to solve the problem of the uneven time distribution of tourist flow.The paper first analyzes the overall temporal distribution characteristic of tourist flow using certain research methods, specifically studies the inter-annual and monthly variation characteristics. The results demonstrate that there is significant difference between them. Then, the temporal distribution feature of tourist market structure is studied in this paper. Taking Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and19foreign source countries as inbound customer samples, except for Sichuan province and taking other30provinces, municipality directly under the central government of mainland area as domestic customer samples, the paper respectively discusses the inter-annual features of tourist numbers, market share, preference scale, and competition state. In addition, major customer samples are selected according to the geographical location and the number of tourist, which aims to analyze the monthly variation characteristic of the seasonal distribution model, seasonal index, low and peak season. Research has found that:the temporal feature of Sichuan’s tourist market structure is stable, no significant change. To further broaden the market, it is necessary to improve the mixing degree of the bull and star market.Modern tourism mainly includes tourist subject, tourist object and tourism media. The paper studies the cause of temporal distribution feature of tourist flow from above three angles. Sichuan province is compared with Beijing, Shanghai, Yunnan, the whole nation in the research of inbound tourism, and the natural condition, the level of attraction, location is mainly analyzed in the research of tourism object. Studies have found that those factors are not independent. They mutually influence tourist attractions seasonality. In order to effectively relieve the uneven temporal distribution of tourist flow, Sichuan province can work as following aspects:use differential pricing strategy to meet the different levels of tourist; grasp the temporal features of tourism market structure and improve the mixing degree of tourism market; rich tourism product type, mainly develop off-season tourism products; Develop creative tourism, expand tourism media function.
