Study On Boder Trade In Jingxi County Of Guangxi

Jingxi County is located in the Guangxi-Vietnam border region. Jingxi County is a gathering place for Zhuang people. In addition, Jingxi County is rich in natural resources. In Jingxi Country, there are Longbang port, Yueyu port and four border trade points. With the great investment of government on construction of infrastructure for Jingxi County such as railway and highway, the infrastructure in Jingxi County will be further improved. What is more, both the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area and the implementation of the "Two Corridors and One Ring" between China and Vietnam provide excellent opportunity for Jingxi County to develop border trade. Jingxi County has advantages of resources, border, transport and opportunities, but comprehensive study on border trade development of Jingxi County is still little. As to this problem, the following researches and contributions are made by using documentation method, participant observation method and in-depth interviewing method in this paper.Firstly, an overview about the development process and policy of border trade between China and Vietnam is gived.Secondly, analysis for the development of border trade of Jingxi County is made in many aspects, such as policies, infrastructure, type, scale, method of settlement and comparison to border trade of Pingxiang City and Dongxing City.Thirdly, the problems and the opportunities and challenges of the border trade development of Jingxi County are pointed out.Lastly, suggestions about how to rapidly develop border trade of Jingxi County are point out based on current situation, opportunities and challenges. Above all, the research in this paper is useful for Jingxi County and other counties of Guangxi border ethnic minority areas to develop border trade rapidly.
