The Research Of Competitive Evaluation For Liaoning Coastal Port

In recent years, port competition in international shipping, trade and other sectors have been nothing new, which have advantage to the development of healthy competition, but also a malignant competition of a waste of resources caused by contention. It is universally acknowledged that port competitiveness builds national competitiveness, and national competitiveness enhances the country’s economic strength.Therefore, with the extensive development of economic globalization, the research of China’s port competition should also be improved constantly, and accordingly to improve the overall port competitiveness of our country, making better coordination of the development of related port industrial, commercial and trade economy. In view of this topic I also did profound research and the establishment of evaluation index system and evaluation model for the control and direction of port activities. This paper studies the competition between ports, and a series of academic analysis for the port competitiveness.First, the connotation, port type and characteristics of port competitiveness are introduced. Then, during to the limits of the Data Envelopment Analysis method method, in the analysis of influencing factors of port competitiveness, the internal and external factors, and valuable experience from a combination of domestic and foreign research, as a result, it selects to use Factor Analysis method as to exclude the interference of the correlation, constructs port competitiveness evaluation index system, and based on this system, the article defines the input and output indices, then uses DEA method to establish the evaluation model of the port competitiveness. Finally, based on these system and model, it takes six ports, including Dalian Port, Yingkou Port, Panjin Port, Dandong Port, Jinzhou Port and Huludao Port in Liaoning province as the main study objects to give analysis and evaluation on the port competitive relationship between them. What’s more, after evaluating the competitiveness of ports, the article also rank the port with it using DEA model.Through the analysis of the competitive evaluation results, and a combination with theoretical knowledge, proposals for the development of Liaoning port are raised. The completion of this paper played a positive role to me in guiding research work in the port in the future, and I hope that this can further improve the research on the port competition and provide a reference for future study.
