Study On The Role Of Building Northeast Asia International Shipping Center In Promoting Liaoning Province Foreign Trade Development

Liaoning Province, which was once China’s important industrial base, has made a significant contribution to historic for the country’s socialist industrialization and modernization. However, with the in-depth developments of reform and opening up, the institutional and structural contradictions of Liaoning Province socio-economic is becoming apparent increasingly, directly slowing the economic development of Liaoning Province and expanding the economic gap with developed areas. Responding to the new situation of growing economic globalization, Liaoning Province has to make full use of the domestic and foreign resources as well as markets, so as to develop its foreign trade. In 2003, the central government clearly put forward to making full use of existing port conditions and advantages in the Northeast to make Dalian an important international shipping center in Northeast Asia. As we all know, Dalian is one of the most important ports and trading ports in Liaoning Province, while Liaoning Province is the direct economic hinterland of Dalian. Building Dalian into an international shipping . center in Northeast Asia is bound to affect the conducting of Liaoning’s international trade, and supports the rapid development of foreign trade in Liaoning Province from multiple respects. Therefore, it’s very significant to study the role of building Dalian Northeast Asia International Shipping Center in promoting foreign trade development in Liaoning Province, and to propose several specific measures to make this role to be maximized. That is also the main purpose of our research.Firstly, the article makes a summary and evaluation of domestic and foreign research results and points out the achievements and inadequacies of existing research, from the points of the mechanism of an international shipping center’formation and its effects on the economy of the relevant regional. Secondly, the article describes the basic knowledge of building an international shipping center and the economic hinterland, and expounds the theory about role of building an international shipping center in promoting the developments of foreign trade of its economic hinterland. Subsequently, the paper uses some relevant theories to analyze the various channels from which the construction of Dalian International Shipping Center to promote the development of foreign trade in Liaoning Province. Then, combined with the data collected, the article constructs the time series model about building Dalian into an international shipping center to develop the foreign trade in Liaoning Province, and in-depth analyzes the relative strength and developing trends of different promoting effects. Finally, based on the empirical analysis and combined with the status quo of building Dalian into an international shipping center in Northeast Asia, this article gives a series of policy proposals specifically, so as to maximize the promotion of the foreign trade developments in Liaoning Province on the base of deepening the construction of regional international shipping center.I hope the research results of this paper can help to provide some useful for the construction of Dalian Northeast Asia International Shipping Center, and deepen the promoting effects which is put by the Dalian regional international shipping center on the foreign trade of Liaoning Province, and ultimately achieve the goal of revitalizing the Liaoning old industrial base.
