Employment is a major significance for women. It is not only women’s basic accessto have income, but also a basic means of self-realization of the value for women.From the macro perspective, women’s employment relationship not only has a directbearing on social harmony, further affects social development and stability。Countriesof the employment of women has always been a topic fully concerned, but due to theirdifferent of development and national conditions, the characteristics of femaleemployment is different for each country.In the old days, women’s social status is very poor in China。Since the founding ofnew China, the Party and the Government has attached great importance to theemployment of women, not only in the form of laws guaranteeing women equalemployment rights, but through administrative means to women’s integration inemployment。Supported and encouraged by policies, women generally went intosociety in our country, access to all areas of community social workers, activelyengaged in the cause of China’s Socialist construction, female employment in Chinahad made unprecedented achievement during this periods, equal employment andequal pay for equal work was basically becoming a general consensus of the plannedeconomy。However, change of economic system,which began form the1970of the20th century, makes more opportunities for women’s employment in China, while alot of problems couldn’t be ignored. As the planned economic system changed intomarket economy system reform, employment of labor force in our country hasundergone fundamental changes. Previous Government-led, national placement ofemployment and gradually was replaced by market allocation of labor resources andwomen must go to labor market to get a job by competition. In addition, the maximizeor minimize costs has become the target of enterprise, competition for jobs, willhighlight the differences between men and women, women’s employment also willhighlight a wide range of issues.Based on analyze institutional change and women’s employment theory, thispaper takes State-owned enterprises for example, study on the economic impact ofchanges on female employment. First, analyze the dialectic relationship betweeninstitutional change and employment, and then review the formation and developmentof China’s economy after the founding. I also analyze the number of jobs andemployment structure of women workers under various stages of economic systems inState-owned enterprises, and see the institutional changes on employment opportunities for female employees in State-owned enterprises. For women’semployment issues, this article has designed a questionnaire from the perspective ofempirical research and conducted a survey, from which i found the economicproblems of women’s employment in China in the transition, and provide somerecommendations for female on employment to help them adapt to the currenteconomic situation.
