In twenty-first Century, inland area international goods transportation volumeincrease very fast. International experience shows that, container goods sea-railconbined transportation is the master mode of the international transportation mode.To set up efficient international sea-rail conbined transportation managementsystem in port, railway, customs,commodity inspection and other relevantdepartments is the urgent and important subject.Ningbo--Zhoushan port has its special advantages to make it as one of theworld’s most competitive ports. However, the modern multimodal transportationof Ningbo--Zhoushan port started very late and can not follow the port ’s rapiddevelopment needs, especially the sea-rail conbined transportation development.So improve the establishment of Ningbo sea-rail conbined transportation modelhas been very urgent.This research introduced the development of sea-rail conbined transportion inthe major ports at home and abroad. Analysed Ningbo sea-rail conbined transportion status and characteristics, at the same time discussed the experiences athome and abroad. This research based on the current Ningbo sea rail conbinedtransportion development reality, learning lessons from the ports at home andabroad, using the theory of supply chain management, studied Ningbo sea-railconbined transportion operation mode frames and specific suggestions.
