Guangdong, in2010, which hasa GDP of4601.306billion, accounting for11.56percent of the national economy, is aChina’s first economic big province, so the economic trends and directions of Guangdongcan largely reflect the trends and directions of the whole economy of China. The study of therelationship between industrialization and urbanization in Guangdong, not only has aguiding significance for the economic development of Guangdong, but also has some lessonsfor the other provinces and even for the development of national economy.First of all, this article reviews a large number of domestic and foreign researches about thetopic, then summarizes the theory of the interactive development of the industrialization andurbanization and arguments the cyclic evolution of interactive relationship betweenindustrialization and urbanization. Second, it analyzes deviation between industrializationand urbanization on the basic of the situation of the development of industrialization andurbanization in Guangdong province. According to the theory of interaction mechanism ofindustrialization and urbanization, we build econometric models, which discover that there isan existence of long-term balanced development between industrialization and urbanizationin Guangdong Province. It indicates that the development of industrialization andurbanization in Guangdong province follows a certain rule, and has formed a virtuous cycleof mutual promotion mechanism.
