From The "Self-management" To "a Combination Of Self-management And Organization Management"

This article expands thinking of the "order". There are three questions. How to build andperfect the individual order? How to build and improve the organizational order? What is arelationship between the organizational order and the Individual order? Xunzi had told us adetailed answer in the Xunzi’s management thought. With basing on the existing researchresults of the Xunzi’s management thinking, the author research Xunzi’s writings throughliterature, comparative and other methods of study in this paper. Taking the Xunzi’s theory ofhuman nature as a starting point, Xunzi look for a management approach to take the "unrest"to "peace". In this process, Xunzi answer the previous questions, mainly in the Xunzi’s "Threestages of Management".First stage, Xunzi’s "self-management", is the management activities based on theXunzi’s theory of human nature and "self-cultivation theory”, also is the reasonablemanagement process that establishes and improve the individual order. It includes learning,self-cultivation, Spiritual cultivation and other key management methods. The object of"Self-management" is a manager itself, the goal is become a "gentleman, saints."Second stage, Xunzi’s "organization management", is the management activities basedon the Xunzi’s theory of human nature and "Sub-group theory", also is the managementprocess that make the organization order from the "unrest" to "peace", including the "rule nearand quit far,""Ming-fen and Shi-qun" and "Employers know people "and other keymanagement methods. The object of "Organization management" is a group of organizations.The goal of "Organization management" is "live together in harmony" and "all the rich up anddown".Third stage, Xunzi’s "a combination of self-management and organization management",is the management activities based on the Xunzi’s theory of human nature and "Li-fa thought",also is the management process that make the person and organization order from the "unrest"to "peace". The management method is "Emphasis on Ritual and Law". The object of "acombination of self-management and organization management" is person-and-organizations.The goal of "a combination of self-management and organization management" is "Fromunrest to peace".In the discussion of these three stages, this study takes three related cases from the realityof the enterprise management. The manager’s management gains and losses are analyzed byaccording to the Xunzi’s management thought. And we have obtained some valuable insight.
