Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) investigated40countries aroundthe world through the comparison of11aspects, including income, employment,housing, health, education, environment and so on. The study comes to the happinessindex ranking, and China among the "Top Tenth Happiest Countries ", ranking eighth.December12,2011, Forbes published a global happiness ranking from the British ChiKuliegetan Institute, China ranked52, living in110countries in the middle reaches.On the list of "Global Happiness Index" released by the end of May2011, China wasnamed the happiest country in the world.It is essential that how to measure happiness measurements and find the measurementfor China’s national conditions. This paper mainly discusses the following fourquestions: First, the differences between Gross National Happiness index method incompilers, test items as well as of use of indicators; second, changes of GuangdongNational Happiness index during four years from2007to2011; Third, the observedvariables affect on the subjective well-being of the Guangdong residents.This paper investigated the urban residents of the21cities in Guangdong Province,carried out four years of large-scale sample surveys, using statistical index, structuralequation modeling and other methods and basing on psychology, sociology,economics and other disciplines, focusing on analysis of the core issues of the GrossNational Happiness studies. It aims to provide a more feasible and more operableresearch path to measure Gross National Happiness, and the recommendations for therelevant departments to formulate policies.
