The arrival of era of knowledge economy and global integration process as the rapiddevelopment of the world in different countries, different regions between the increasinglyfierce competition, the competition is the carrier of the city; economic globalization andregional integration trend of development and the requirements of various economic zone inmaintaining their own competitive advantage and also with other regional division of laborand collaboration. So the city competition and city harmonious development research has nowbecome the hot issue of study city. But separate emphasizes the city competitiveness seversthe link between city not only to the city itself to city development, harmonious developmentbetween the threat.Central is located in our country inland hinterland provinces, between economic, social,cultural, resources such as similarity is very high, if mid central city development does notpay great attention to the mutual coordination and cooperation between each city will resultin" behind closed doors". Each city copied other city develops mode to improve their owncompetitiveness most always causes the central all central city development mode more andmore close, the city and the city more and more similar. This will eventually make mid area isonly a geographical concept, has lost its essence attribute.This article from the city competitiveness research, combining competition andharmonious development between research, the thesis consists of three parts.The first part includes the first chapter and the second chapter review at home and abroad,the city competitiveness, regional coordinated development between intersecting with theresearch status, this paper lays the theoretical foundation for the research on.The second part includes chapter third and chapter fourth, introduces the central statusand central city status, and uses empirical research methods to the central city competitivenessand the coordinated development of empirical research.
