The Research On Coordinate Development Between Shenzhen Port And City

Our country is in a period of rapid economic growth, the port throughput is always the first of world for many years, but the development of port cities falls behind relatively. The most important reason is that there is not effective interactive relation between ports and the cities. The practice at home and abroad shows that the positive interactive development between ports and cities is important. It can solve the problems basically such as port city's slow development and less competitive ability. It is also the key factor that can determine whether the port cities can realize sustainable development. The coordinated development between the port and the city is an important way to achieve market interaction and enhance the competitiveness of the port city. The paper stands on the reality of the development of port cities, and mainly studies basic theories and methods of the relationship between ports and cities in order to find out the coordinated development level of Shenzhen Port and City and promote coordinated development of port-city's integration.The paper firstly makes a dialectical analysis on the relationship between the port and port-city. The result of the analysis shows that the correct evaluation of the interaction between the port and port-city needs a standard evaluation system. Based on the outcome of the related literature, the paper conceives an index system of evaluating the coordinated development between port and port-city, gains the synthetic development indexes of the two systems by the method of Principal Component Analysis, introduces static and dynamic coordination evaluation models and classifying the static coordinated development between port and port-city four classes in general and ten types in details. And then, the paper analyses and evaluates the relationship between the port and port-city of Shenzhen from year 2000 to year 2009. To the end of the paper, the countermeasure of the coordinated development between the port and port-city in Shenzhen has been put forward.
