During design of IT products, we must meet strict requirement from safety department, that make sure that end user can not been injured during using, so if the products will be entered into marketing, the governments of almost countries require the products must have safety certificate, such as must meet the standard, IEC60950, many countries establish their standards for the similar products, almost them refer to the IEC60950,GB4943 of our country is also based on this standard.In GB4943, there are many requirements not only about electric characteristic but also about mechanism structure; this paper is based on power adapter design, which must meet GB4943, ball impact test is one of important tests, which is a safety test, must pass this safety test during project development, make sure meet schedule, it is necessary that we should study it before beginning of project development.In order to answer the questions about ball impact analysis and test, the paper mainly setup working as follow, one is to sumarrize common questions during the test and to do nonlinear FEM simulation, the other is to do related partial test. In detail,please refer to the content list as below:Introduce to basic concept of impact dynamics and nonlinear FEM software,ANSYS/LS-DYNA.To be better development of this research, introduce current situation of impact test fully, and industry standard of ball impact on power adapter.Research on common issues during ball impact test, such as case cracked ,bobbin of transformor cracked,and potocouple cracked, propased proper thickness of case is first thing of case design to solve ball impact issue, Comparation three structures of ultrasonic welding, propased add and extend length of inner wall is a good struture for withstanding ball impact, add rubber pad on top of transformor and add rubber pad around potocouple, which are better structure to withstand ball impact and being used in practice.
