The electronic tour guide system is the inevitable development of tourism, which can greatly promote the prosperity of tourism. It has low-cost, high-quality, convenient operation and many other advantages. The traditional tour guide is based on artificial explanation. Compared with the electronic tour guide, it’s difficult to meet the demands for the growing tourists because of its high-cost, few-personnel, large QOS (quality of service) gap and so on. Meanwhile, the overloaded and tedious work for guides also restricts the progress of the traditional tour guide. Therefore, with the rapid development of the tourism and modern technology, the electronic tourist guide system using new service mode is adopted and popularized by more and more scenic spots.This research project is a wireless electronic tour guide system. By using embedded Linux technology and wireless control technology, the electronic tourist guide system can acquire simplicity of operator, user-friendly interface (and other characters). Tourist guide system design uses the program with the operating system. It is convenient for users to manage and operate. The Linux system using here is an open source. It is portability, which means it can be cut or add modules in accordance with requirements. This provides a good guarantee for further development and improvement.The main contents of this article:1. Build the platform of electronic tourist guide system embedded Linux system. Building-up the basic development environment with the Red Hat5system, the establishment of cross-compilation tools, install and configure NFS connected to the target machine; installation for the development of electronic tour guide system terminal program Qt; transplants are used to play video decoding MPlayer.2. The hardware design of electronic tourist guide system, including wireless transceiver system, the circuit of SD card extended, vibration function circuit, the download the debug circuit design and LCD display circuit.3. The design of wireless communication program. The wireless communication consists of two parts:the signal transmission system launch program and wireless receiver driver on the terminal. The function of wireless is the transmitter launch encoded signal while the terminal receives encoded signal to position attractions.4. Design tourist guide terminal program, Using Qt to design electronic tourist guide system terminal’s display interface. Write Qt front-end control the MPlayer backend running program. This part is the core functionality of the terminal portion of the guides. The main subject of the work:firstly, Boot Loader, kernel and driver transplant; Secondly, electronic tourist guide system design in Qt user player interface; thirdly, nRF24L01wireless radio-frequency transmission ARM transplant; at last, design and Implementation of the kind of electronic tour guide system.
