Visitors are satisfied with the guide service is an effective propaganda to tourist attractions, the aim of paper is designing an automated voice guiding terminal which is based on the GPS positioning technology. With analysing the domestic tourism market and the status of guide equipment, finding the defects and deficiencies of guide products in the current market, and proposes a program that based on embedded technology with GPS positioning guide termination.Firstly, the program completes the designing of system functions, and according to the overall function, completes the design the composition of the equipment. On hardware circuit, using S3C2440A as the main control chip, with its rich resources, interface circuit of the GPS module, the audio interface circuit and the designing of SD card interface circuit are analyzed, and designing the power circuit. On the part of software development, the open source platform of Linux development is built, porting the GUI Qt / Embedded, the MPlayer player and SQLite database to the Linux platform. On this basis, create the database of area, make database connect user's interface ,and develop a graphical user interface to be achieved for multi-language, real-time location, area information search and auto-play function.Finally, the program is downloaded to the hardware platform, complete the overall test of the system, get a good test results. By analyzing the test results, showed that the system is stable and reached the prior design requirements.
