In recent years, mobile learning has been widely used in education and training institutions, such as universities and enterprises, with the increasing of mobile devices penetration, for the advantages of full use of learners’ fragmentation time, M-learning attracts more and more social attention, it improves learning efficiency of learners and consolidates the teaching goals. Color has a bigger impact on people’s life and work, especially the professional field of color use. Mobile learning brings the adaptability teaching auxiliary reform to color learning and color use, making color learning more from life and nature, setting up the communication platform between the teachers and students outside the classroom, at the same time, enhancing the communication between the learner and the learning environment.Building painting color learning system of this paper aims at providing the color learners more convenient moving color knowledge base and learning information exchange platform, providing more flexible acquisition way to make the color information, broadening the share of color information, color instance and color learning resources. As a teaching aid tool, this system trains learners the sensitivity to color and color matching, in order to achieve this teaching goal, system adds the recommendation engine technology, on the basis of color similarity research, the colors which will be most likely to be interested in or the best color matching will be pushed to the front of learners through learners’personal preferences and other color matching instances, by this way, system heightens the learners’ interest in learning, and promotes the improvement of teaching quality.This paper firstly introduces the research significance and research method, putting forward the necessity of color learning based on M-learning. Under the guidance of teaching theory of M-learning, incognitive concept is introduced into the system, emphasizing the impact of individual perception and influence between individual perception and environment. Then expounds the traditional mobile learning model, putting forward the design of the color-learning model under the perspective of distributed cognition. Next, on the basis of the theoretical model, explores the feasibility and overhead costs of system and analyses the comparision between implementation techniques of system client and server side. Then launches the further discussion of color similarity, describes the color similarity algorithm of recommendation engine in detail, which is used in this color learning system. Next, describes system overall design, including architecture design, functional design, database design. Finally elaborated the system detailed design and development process of key modules, as well as the system running results show.
