At present, the maintenance and repair of ballasted track railway with the large-scale track maintenance machinery are based on the method of relative operating in china, the rail track is only recovered the relative status of the line after the track maintenance. Meanwhile, track geometry inspection equipments are very expensive and hard to be maintained. Considering that the measurement of existing railway on the ballasted track is low-precision, high-cost in our country, it is an urgent problem to develop an high efficient, practical measuring system on the ballasted track of existing railway, so this thesis will do research on the new measuring method on the ballasted track of existing railway.This thesis mainly consists of the following:Firstly, the overview of the traditional measuring method of CPIII control network on the ballasted track of existing railway, and proposed a new measuring method of CPIII control network which based on the method of Free Station Linear-Angular Intersection by analysing current method’s shortcomings. In the end, with the simulation calculation of the accuracy and validation on-site, this paper considered that the new method is feasible, and it provides reference for the current scheme of establishing CPIII network on ballasted track.Secondly, proposed a new measuring method of ballasted track, which based on the CP III network of ballasted track and a new instrument developed by our research team which is called Track Center Measuring Implement, and gave a detailed description about the new method of measuring program and operating procedures. And finally, the precision analysis ensures that the new method can meet the requirements of current measurement on the ballasted track.Then, researched a series of data processing algorithms of new measuring method on the ballasted track, which include the data overlapping, connection and interpolation by orbital coordinate and center line mileage, calculation of track ride and track adjustment and so on, which ensure the new measuring method on the ballasted track is completed smoothly.Finally, on the basis of the algorithms research, programmed the Ballasted Track Survey Data Processing Software (BTSDPS), and completed the data processing tasks of measuring on the ballasted track of existing railway, integrated the automated processing and analysis of the observation data, and verified the correctness of the self-programmed software through the comparison with the third commercial software’s calculation results.
