With the rapid development of computer technology as well as display technology and the improvement of people’s living standards, the three-dimensional stereoscopic display has become a hot but difficult point of recent studies because the traditional two-dimensional display is difficult to satisfy people’s needs. The industries related to three-dimensional stereoscopic display are developing rapidly, but not yet mature.This paper mainly discusses autostereoscopic display and a new type of lenticular-lens for autostereoscopic display, and the studies include an introduction to the basic principles and key technologies of auto-stereoscopic display, analysis of the optical path of the lenticular-lens, research on the evaluation theory of image quality in an optical system, and comparison of various types of the primary aberrations. Traditional autostereoscopic display has larger aberration at the time of imaging, because the lenticular-lens for autostereoscopic display is usually with a single lens unit. In this paper, imaging of lenticular-lens unit is simulated with the help of ZEMAX optical simulation software, and the various aberrations of it are validated and analyzed, such as spherical aberration, coma aberration, astigmatism, and chromatic aberration.This paper presents a solution to weaken the aberration based on the stereoscopic display technology with lenticular-lens, firstly, gives a theoretical analysis of the anaberrational lenticular lens, then analyzes the correlation between parameters of the anaberrational lenticular lens for simulation with MATLAB, provides a theoretical basis for the design of anaberrational lenticular lens.parameters, finally simulats the anaberrational lenticular lens imaging system using ZEMAX software and analyzes various aberrations of the initial system structure. The simulation results show that the main spherical aberration and chromatic aberration in the traditional lenticular lens imaging has been significantly improved.In order to reduce the other aberrations and improve image quality, this paper uses ZEMAX software setting the evaluation function, and optimizes the initial structure of the anaberrational lenticular lens. Simulation results show that the spherical aberration and chromatic aberration are further reduced, and the field curvature and astigmatism are controlled. The image quality of the anaberrational lenticular lens has been fully improved. The anaberrational lenticular lens can be used as a better solution in autostereoscopic display in the case of the increasing demands on image quality, which has great significance on improving image quality.
