With the development of Internet of Things (IOT), the network has gradually evolved from "connect between people to people" to "connect between things and things". The new changes not only appear in the expansion of the network scale, and more importantly, in the upper business model innovation. In the era of Internet of Things, because of the large number of sensor devices deployment, not matter is human or machine can perceive the surrounding environment changes more accurately and make feedback more quickly. Diversification of access equipment is just one of the manifestations of the new generation of Internet of Things, on the other hand is the enrichment of the upper business applications, how to efficiently and easily connected to the Internet of Things in both ends is particularly important in the current environment. In this paper, we first analyze the structural features and the upper business model characteristics of a new generation of Internet of Things, in present circumstance, the main problems in data transmission are the vast amount of data and access devices, complicated connection management and strong demand of data sharing. Around those issues, we propose a system referred as "Resource Oriented Data Transmission Middleware" running between the transport layer and the application layer. This system aims at how to transfer data between perception layer devices and upper different applications efficiently and safely. The system is designed using "Resource Oriented Architecture", and all the perception layer devices are treated as resources. Message is the basic resource unit in data transmission. All the messages are centralized managed by this middleware system and can be accessed by clients through REST API. In order to meet the needs of data sharing between multi-applications, and reduce data transmission cost, the system using a queue model to store data that from the same kind of devices. Furthermore, in order to meet the needs of massive clients’access and high reliability, the system runs as a distributed system, different modules are separated in different machines. At the end of paper, a prototype system implementation is given to verify the correctness of system design.
