Research On Calculation Method For Wcdma Radio Resource Utilization Based On Network Management Data

For mobile operators, the utilization efficiency of network resource becomes the focus of attention when the development of network has entered a mature stage. Because accurate analysis of the network capacity and network resource utilization can effectively balance the network quality of service and resource benefits, and can achieve the maximization of economic benefit on the premise of guaranteeing the communication quality of network.After more than3years of development, the WCDMA network construction has initially formed a scale. While China Unicom has been developing its network construction and business with great effort, reasonable statistics and calculation for WCDMA radio resource utilization also need more attention and research work. This paper mainly studies the calculation method for WCDMA wireless resources utilization. By combining the network management performance data with theoretical derivation, the formula of calculating WCDMA radio resource utilization is proposed, and it is applied to analyze the existing network data and assess the network quality.This paper firstly introduces the key technologies and main radio resources of the WCDMA network, and analyzes the shortages of the studies of WCDMA wireless resources utilization at present. Then, in view of these shortcomings, a method for the research on the relations between network services and resources is proposed based on the network management performance data, which have a close relationship with the existing network. The method is, from the perspective of statistics, to obtain the relations between different network services and radio resources by fitting and analyzing the massive network management data. With these relations, the formula of calculating WCDMA radio resource utilization is given by combining the network management performance data with theoretical derivation. Finally, the calculation method is applied to analyze existing network data and assess the network quality. And the analysis shows that the radio resource utilization is closely related to the coverage rate, congestion rate and so on. Meanwhile, according to the analysis, the corresponding monitoring thresholds are recommended, which can guild the network optimization and lead a developing direction for future network.
