As a national important infrastructure and the popular means of transport, the high-speed rail developed rapidly has gradually became a popular means of travel. The monitoring of high-speed rail is the main way to guarantee the safe operation of the high-speed rail which is the premise of its operating. The real-time monitoring of the rail is an important aspect.The system based on wireless sensor network (WSN) and combining with the Internet, embedded, database and other related technology, can achieve real-time monitoring of rail. Compared with the traditional way of check-out train, it has the advantages of all-weather, real-time, early-warning, more appropriate for the high-speed rail safety monitoring.The design of the gateway which connects wireless sensor network and3g wireless network is proposed in this paper, and the specific implementation of the hardware and software are also given. Firstly, present a hardware structure of the gateway and the equipment selection scheme, adding the function of waterproof and lightning protection to make it suitable for complex work environment. Secondly, based on the application layer, work out communication frame format of two kinds network and the way of protocol conversion according to the basic framework of software design. Thirdly, solve the problem of dynamic node data receiving time is too long on the server-side through the speed matching, and adopt Zigbee network transmission control to improve the Zigbee network channel utilization, improving the performance of the whole monitoring system. Finally, the remote hot upgrade modules is designed. The module of two network protocol processing released in DLL way are dynamically loaded during the processing, realizing upgrade without shutting down the gateway process. Data transmission can be uninterrupted during the upgrade process, reducing network restarting and data retransmission.The gateway has been tested on the parts of the high-speed rail for more than eighteen months. After some problem solved, it has been running stably for six months. After the testing, the gateway meets the design index. The data that the sensors gather from rail can be stably and reliably transmit to the monitoring center to provide real-time status of rail.
