Programmable logic controller (PLC) is the core of the industrial automation control components, and is widely used in automatic control field. With PLC in the process of mass production, when lamp panel welding quality problems occur, such as leakage, if such similar questions don’t check out in time, there will be hidden trouble in the process of using PLC, which cause huge losses. At present, Testing for PLC lamp panel products most rely on artificial visual inspection. There may be shortcomings such as subjective factors effect, high labor intensity and low working efficiency, and inspect artificial mass inspection PLC lamp panel in a short time is not realistic. So the realization of PLC lamp panel detection system has great practical significance and use value.In this paper, we will combine the computer vision technology, image processing technology, automation technology with EPA real-time Ethernet technology, and design a set of PLC lamp panel test system. The system mainly contains hardware system and software system. Hardware includes image acquisition unit, the housing unit, the result display unit, PLC control unit and other parts. Software includes image acquisition, image processing, such as EPA signal processing part. Its software part of the system is the core of this thesis, this paper will search on the EPA real-time Ethernet technology, image processing technology, etc. in this paper we mainly carefully analysis and research On PLC lamp panel image preprocessing algorithm, and simulate under the environment of MATLAB7.0.With the design of lamp panel test system, the PLC lamp panel test system is implemented in this paper. This system has realized by using four USB camera to10PLC lamp panel parity bit at the same time the light or a light image acquisition, image each image by gray, gray stretching, smooth processing, binarization and morphological open operation after get black and white and two kinds of color image, by comparing white pixels in the image must be rectangular area of the number with preset value to determine the size of the lamp is normal, and the inspection result is displayed. A large number of test results show that the system has the characteristic of easy operation, high speed, high precision, etc, and the PLC lamp board can be inspected by this method.
