Because the working discharging ARC of the Automobile Metal Halide Lamp is very short, the small assembling error margin of the discharging pole will have big influence on the whole functions of the Metal Halide Lamp. Therefore, how to control the distance between the poles precisely, is one of the important factors that affect the quantity consistency of the Metal Halide Lamp.Based on the theories of Image Processing and Image Recognising, some algorithms has been designed to process the bubble's images gathered by CCD and passed to the computer by the gathering card, recognise the assembled poles, measure the distance between the poles, get the error margin by comparing the distance with the normal value, then convert it into adjusting instructions and send out to AC servo driver via serial port. The communication between the computer and the AC servo driver is according to the ModBus RTU.The text is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1 says the background, meanings, and solutions of the studying topic,; Chapter 2 analyses the working principle of the Metal Halide Lamp, how to design the ARC tube, and the theory foundation of the topic; Chapter 3 elaborates how to process the images, recognise the poles, measure the distance between the poles and the error margin; Chapter 4 emphasize to solve how to correct the error margin and transmit it to the AC servo driver, and control the assembling of the poles; The last chapter is this text's sub- footing.
