With the rapid development of e-commerce, virtual fitting clothes and shoes have become apopular trend on the website. In a virtual fitting system, we can simulate shoes’ wearing effect onthe feet by an automatic matching method, it can directly and conveniently check and analyzethe shoes comfortability, and judge whether the shoes are required by the user rightly. So theautomatic foot and shoe last matching researches have important significance and applicationvalue. This paper discusses two of the main problems on digital last matching:(1)3D foot modeldeformation. It mainly uses the shaft deformation algorithm deform the foot modelcorresponding with high-heeled shoe last.(2) Foot and shoe last matching. the main idea is torotate the foot model and shoe last model through the oriented bounding box (OBB), and thenuses the axis aligned bounding box (AABB) for the translation to achieve the purpose ofautomatic matching. The shoe last could be adjusted on the basis of distance difference if theshoe last too large or too small. Specific contents as follow:(1) It gives the comprehensive analysis of the research status about the digital shoe lasttechnology and3D foot and shoe last matching, and points out important significance in researchand broad application prospects.(2)3D foot model deformation. Because the foot model matching high-heeled shoes needsto make corresponding deformation, this paper puts forward a deformation method based on theshaft line of the last bottom. We first find out the bottom of axis of high-heeled shoe last, andthen change the base of axis of foot model according to the last bottom of axis. On the basis offoot model point coordinates by the new axis mapping transformation, we achieve the expecteddeformation effect.(3) Digital shoe last matching. This section presents a novel method of matching3D foot toshoe last based on oriented bounding box (OBB) and axis aligned bounding box (AABB). Wefirst calculate the OBB of shoe last and foot, align the foot and the last strictly with three axis of world coordinate system according to the direction of OBB. Then, we compute the AABB ofshoe last and foot, translate the center of the underside quadrilateral of the foot AABB to thecenter of the underside quadrilateral of the shoe last AABB. After the rough matching, the shoelast could be adjusted on the basis of distance difference if the shoe last too large or too small.(4) This chapter describes the development environment of virtual fitting system and showsthe system operation steps. The system is realized by C++and OpenGL.In the end of this thesis, it summarizes the current work and gives the prospects of thisresearch.
