In the21st century, as the rapid advancement of information technology,every trade havemoved toward an information-based path, information has become the fourth largest enterpriseproduction elements after capital,technology and talents,which is the key factor to shortenresponse period. In recent years, the information construction of Chinese clothing enterprise hasmade great progress, but they general focus on production, finance, sales, procurement andpersonnel, and ignore on the construction and research of information which is directrelationship to the core competitiveness of the products. This thesis through analysis theapplication of information science in the business field at home and abroad,and the presentsituation of the clothing industry informatization, and demand of domestic clothing enterprises ‘sproduct link to information, put forward through using theory of information science andinformation technology, build specifically Intelligence System for Fashion design, and withreference to the naming method of "Competitive Intelligence System ", referred to as"CIS",which is more mature of the domestic and international research, and named the System as"Fashion Design Intelligence System", referred to as "FDIS".FDIS are composed of information gathering subsystem, analysis subsystem and servicesubsystem,which is service for fashion design, there are respectively corresponding informationgathering group, analysis group and decision-making group to fit co-operation. The threesubsystems are independent, and cooperate closely, dynamically provide timely, accurate,objective and comprehensive information intelligence for policy makers and designers, this canhelp the decision makers set product development plan rapidly and accurately, monitoring andanalyzing the competition environment changes, then make corresponding strategy, promoteenterprise’s core competitive ability; help stylist shorten the product development cycle,improve the success rate of product research and development and meet consumers’ diversifiedneeds.The author systematically elaborated the basic principle and conditions which constructionof FDIS, and FDIS system structure, working process, characteristics and function; moduleSettings and working process of the Three subsystems, In the end,taking a domestic clothing company as an example, elaborated how to run FDIS in the clothing company.The author put theory of information science and information theory into Fashion design,set up specifically Intelligence System for Fashion design, whether for the enterprise itself ordecision-makers and designer, it has very important practical significance.
