With the popularity of computer and network communication technology, virtual community has come into the spotlight. It brings tremendous impact and challenges to people’s daily life. The users can freely communicate, express emotions, make academic discussions, ask for help and even carry out transactions in the virtual space. By the research on the virtual community users’information behavior, it provides a new perspective to encourage people to make benign interaction and regulate misconducts.This study is divided into three parts. The first part talks about questions about the virtual community, including its concepts, the characteristics of virtual community users and information. The second part discusses the behavior of a virtual community users’information. And this part is divided into two sections, the first section talks about types and influencing factors of the user information and behavior in the virtual community, the types of behavior include behavior of accessing, interacting, creating and utilizing information.After studying the theory, by using examples, information behavior will be further broken down and the regular pattern of behavior will be discussed; The second section discusses the misconducts of virtual communities. The third part puts forward four proposals about virtual community building and regulatory approaches of the misconduct information behavior.The main conclusions of the case studies in this article are as follows:(1) There is a significant correlation in blog user information behavior, the correlation could be weak or strong, the amounts of behavior have nothing to do with their types;(2) Blog user information behavior starts with information creating, but the ultimate goal is interaction, there are clear distinctions between basic behavior and purposeful behavior, while interacting behavior is the core behavior;(3) The main factors affecting the blog users’information behavior are internal factors, including four aspects:emotions, values, knowledge structures and hobbies.
