The past decade has seen the remarkable development of high-speed railway in China. With the continuous expansion of high-speed passenger dedicated line, the present capacity shortage of railway transport will be greatly alleviated in the few years. Besides, as its safety and convenience are gradually recognized by people, an increasingly number of citizens prefer to choose high-speed railway. However it brings about the challenge of the demand for efficient transmission of communication as well as train control information.The current railway emergency communication technology is analyzed in this thesis. Although it meets the Railway Dispatching Communication requirements proposed by the International Union of Railways, the stability and reliability of railway’s communication network, the high quality wireless coverage and the communication and passengers need to be improved. Due to its limitations in many aspects, the GSM-R will eventually evolve to LTE-R. This thesis mainly studies the public LTE to instead as GSM-R crashes, Thus the security of railway operation could be guaranteed.It is proposed to use the public LTE to instead as GSM-R crashes so as to ensure the reliability of railway communication. The function of dual-sim-card dual-standby is realized via sending and receiving GSM and LTE network by the terminal at the same time. This terminal has an emergency call button, and it ensures both the GSM-R system and LTE public system online. The GSM-R system has a higher call priority while LTE public system has a lower one in the default setting of the system. By adding an ILR network element in the GSM-R network side, which provides real-time updates on the information of the mobile terminal, the LTE network can take over the function of railway emergency communication of GSM-R temporarily via LTE’s information. Thus the reliability of railway emergency communication could be guaranteed.The author constructs an integrated high-speed rail wireless transmission environment, which contains enhanced LTE handoff mechanism, system simulation and evaluation platform system capacity enhancement mechanism, such as CoMP, relay and MIMO multi-antenna technology. Users can set their own parameters and simulation model according to their own needs, so as to verify the simulation analysis of the LTE technology.
