It does not need regular communication facilities in ahead to communicate. Ad Hoc has various applications and great attention. It is widely used in the rescue of disasters and temporary major conference.Security problem is a bottleneck of Ad Hoc, which directly decides the reliability of Ad Hoc. This paper introduces the study on the security of Ad hoc router protocol. It mainly presents the vulnerability of AODV router protocol. Moreover, it provides two attacking methods by utilizing the process of router wrong control and the drawback of sequence number maintaining.1.RERR frame attack. This method utilizes the feature of wrong frame in router. It sends fake RERR frame. And every other node will forwarding the fake RERR frame. Then the router that has been established will be cut. Thus every node has to repeat the process of router construction. At last, the links of sending data are destroyed, which disturbs normal communication in network.2.Sequence number cheating attack. AODV router protocol controls the maintenance of router list, router picking and the generation of RREP in intermediate node by implementing sequence number. Attacking node sends control information with cheating sequence number. It modifies the sequence number in control information in order to disturb the process of maintenance of sequence number, which results in the abnormal process in router protocol. This paper implements RERR frame attack and sequence number cheating attack. It uses OPNET simulation platform to establish attacking model and the scenes of different attacking power. After that, it presents the benchmarks of evaluation of network attacking effect. There are three benchmarks:network sending delay, network I/O and dropped packets per second to evaluate the performance of RERR frame attack and sequence number cheating attack. The result of simulation shows that when there is RERR frame attacking activity or sequence number cheating attack activity in the network, main features of Ad Hoc are highly influenced. The study of this paper can be provided as reference in problem the security of Ad Hoc. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Ad Hoc, router protocol, AODV, OPNET, RERR frameattack, Sequence number cheating attack | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
