With the rapid development of mobile wireless networks, especially the rapid development of3G networks and WiFi networks, making the traditional wired router applications has become increasingly unable to meet the diversity of needs. People increasingly want the high-speed mobile wireless networks play a greater advantage on the application. The emergence of3G-WiFi wireless router open road shared3G network resources in the mobile application. One end of the3G-WiFi wireless router connects to3G network, and the other end through the formation of a WiFi network so that multiple users can enjoy high-speed Internet access3G mobile wireless network experience fun.This paper describes the formation of3G-WiFi wireless router on the embedded Linux system platform, including simulation platform of choice, the use and design of the3G network, the realization of the WiFi end of the AP function and routing functions introduced. We select the pandaboard development board as a development platform, Ubuntu12.04as the host software development platform. We realize the3G function of the platform by reference to the mode conversion function, and success to dial-up by pppd. The WiFi side using hostapd and successfully set up WiFi wireless LAN, and the DHCP function. The intermediate routing using iptables to achieve port forwarding routing functions. It also presents the build process of cross-compiler environment involving the entire simulation platform structures and code porting process. Aiming at the bottleneck for3G-WiFi wireless router, we research and design in the last two chapters, and put forward low power consumption strategy on3G-WiFi router, and make the appropriate changes on the WiFi driver source code, so that the driver can support doing debug on MIMO antenna in Linux kernel mode, and comparing results are given in the rest of the paper. The article also makes a detailed explanation and analysis on part of the related protocols, and technologies, including the IEEE802.11family protocols and3G mobile communications technology and protocol, which can give a more fully guidance in function realization.This simulation platform has achieve the basic functions of the3G-WiFi wireless router, and has a fairly performance with existing products. It can not only be used as an actual product to Share3G network, but also be used as a platform to do some related theoretical research on3G-WiFi router.
