Tire dynamic balance testing machine is an automatic, high precision of electromechanical integration equipment using the typical application of PLC control system, which involved dynamics, mechanics, optics, electronics, computer software and hardware, signal processing, testing technology and sensors, and other fields and disciplines.In the early day, tire dynamic balance testing equipment mainly relied on imports. In recent years, with the attention of the countries and companies, the study of the technology not only invested a lot of manpower material resources, also gave money on support. The appearance of a large number of independent development equipment, realized the leap-forward development from scratch and from small to large. However, the machine’s precision, testing speed, reliability, technological process, particularly in terms of intelligent maintenance and fault diagnosis are subject to further improve and develop.Fault diagnosis and testing technology open up a new way to improve the reliability, maintainability, and intelligence of system. Fault diagnosis technology refers to under the running or working state of the system, identifies whether it works normal or not through a variety of testing means. If not normal, find out the fault through analysis and judgment for easily maintaining or forecast the may fault for the manager to take measures as soon as possible, avoiding stopping production and bringing the great losses before the happening of fault.In the paper, we are mainly around overall development of the tire dynamic balance testing machine system, with the demand of enterprises and the actual project and the in-depth research and development of intelligent maintenance and fault diagnosis system, developing a set of complete equipment fault monitoring and diagnosis system combined with the integrated use of intelligent fault diagnosis and prediction technology, PLC fault tracking and detection, information processing, remote network and sensor test technology. The purpose of this research is to make the development of fault monitoring and diagnosis system not only generally has the function of fault display and alarm, but also intelligent maintenance and forecasting functions. It can not only help maintenance staff locate the position of the failure accurately so that can shoot trouble and restore normal operation in time after the happening of fault, also forecast the occurrence of failure in advance according to the change of quantity of state and fault sign, so as to improve the reliability of equipment greatly, reduce unnecessary economic loss and enhance the market competitiveness of the equipment greatly.The development of diagnosis system not only improves fault diagnosis efficiency of the tire dynamic balance testing equipment, also enhance reliability, maintainability, and intelligent degree of the equipment greatly and the mentioned fault diagnosis and monitoring and intelligent maintenance technology applies to other electromechanical integration equipment as well, is of important engineering practical value, and has important strategic significance to improve China’s equipment intellectualized degree.
