Rural areas are always ignored in the study of Communication while in the processing of the localization of Communication; the study about rural areas is an unavoidable research field. In the information age, the impact of media on the rural areas is very huge. The relation among the mass media, family and rural society become the focus issue of Communication field.From this perspective, using the methods of participant observation, interview and document analysis, this dissertation try to explore the role played by the media in the modern process of rural society. Concerned about how the mass media is embedded in the social, political and economic structure, and the extent to which they have an impact on family and social changes including the digestion of traditional authority, the modernization of the people. Media change and development is coincident with the social development. Therefore, to explore changes in social life from the view of media change seems to be more ripped through the media and individuals, the relationship between communication and social.Most rural areas of China are still in the beginning of Modernization, so the rural areas of South of Jiangsu province is a good select because of its developed economy and high degree of Modernization. The behaviors and phenomenon of the media and communication appearing in these rural areas can play a demonstration role and have great implications. At the age of Globalization and Mediated Society, not only should people base on their own, but also should they learn from others, especially reflection about the change that the Modernization bring about from the same society structure.
