Just as the German philosopher, Martin Heidegger had predicted, we are now entering a world of images, as the world’s manner increasingly relies on globalized mass media. Resulting from this dependence and the imposition of image-based media, we have come to unconsciously accept and incorporate alternative values and ideologies into our daily lives. In the Post-Modern wave, many artists began focusing on the process of converting ordinary objects into artworks, so to build a relation with daily life, history and society. As the magazine is the most widespread form of mass media, it fills the daily lives of people consciously guides that which we consume. Due to my interest in object dissociation and its transferred form, I my artistic practice stems from the magazine. The magazine’s format is quickly consumed, easily copied and obtained at a low price point. In opposition, the manual craftwork of embroidery is slow, complex, and not easy to copy. I want to use the texture of this awkward medium to intervene in the mechanical reproduction, and instantly replace mass media. It’s an attitude; especially living in such a fast-paced era, I prefer this "slow" stance.
