The transport wheel is widely used in the field of metallurgy, chemical, coal, buildingmaterials and electricity. The transport wheel has two layers: the wear layer and the innerlayer, they are bonding together. In production process, the interface debond will affect thefinal performance. In this paper, ultrasonic testing technology is used to study the detectionmethod of the debond of the wear layer and the simulation is used to analyze the impactfactors of ultrasound detection.The testing program using the immersion longitudinal wave reflection method for testingwear layer’s debond is established base on analyzing the structure of the transport wheel. Inconnection with non-metallic high attenuation characteristics, the program using ultrasoundsimulation technology to study the influencing factors of wear layer debond testing ispresented. Wave2000is used to analyze the material thickness of the wear layer, the transportwheel’s radius, the debond range, the frequency of the probe is analyzed to judge the affectionof the interface features echo, five material’s analysis curve is concluded. By a transportwheel’s structure, a ultrasonic automatic acquisition system is built and the C-scan experimentis completed, the ultrasonic testing echo signal is collected also; because of the noise in theecho signal, wavelet threshold noise reduction method is pulled in to reduce the noise and geta good result. The echo amplitude is used as a feature amount, C-scan imaging is completed,meanwhile, image noise reduction is adapted also; By threshold segmentation, C-scanbinarization image can be get, the position and size of the debond range can be determinedfrom the image, the experimental results are consistent with the artificial debond area thatcertify the validity of the detection method.In actual testing, we can execute ultrasonic testing on the basis of the simulation in orderto improve the detection efficiency and reduce the cost of testing.
