The Research Of Digital Image Matching Based On FPGA

In recent years, Digital Image Matching has a relatively large development. It has greatusage in some field,such as Face recognition, Intelligent tracking, Medical imaging and soon. The characteristic of Image Matching is that the Awaiting processing data is so large.And the Image Matching operation can take a long time. But nowadays as the Electronicmanufacturing technology and integrated circuit (IC) make so great progress. It also make thetechnology of FPGA has a great progress. What this page designed system is base on imagematching of FPGA. This system has so much function. Such as Video image acquisition,image matching, the output result of the image function. This system can collect the videoimage with the CCD camera. And while this collected image video is just analog signal. Thisanalog signal should be translated into digital signal with the AD Conversion chip TVP5150.In this page,we use AD Conversion chip TVP5150to translate the analog signal which theCCD camera that captured. So the translated signal came into the digital signal. This digitalsignal can used to matching work for the next step. And so we can only match this translatedsignal to find the most matched image’s location,and at last find the goals coordinate that inthe image which was waiting for matching work.The development of the page’s work is the software that the Altera company developed.And the development software is Quartus II and NIOS ii. And the result is logic synthesis andsimulated by the third party software Modelsim. And while we simulated this system on thissoftware. Finally we find that we can get the perfect result.also the Operational accuracy ismore excellent that the result that is simulated in the software that must work on PC and alsomore excellent than the DSP. So this system is excellent in operational accuracy andarithmetic speed.
