In recent years, the vehicle active safety and anti-collision system, alongwith the present situation of the number of vehicle increasing rapidly, trafficaccidents occurring frequently, has attracted more attention. It can monitor thesurrounding environment of the road ahead of the vehicle and the runningstatus of the vehicle at any time, the potential obstacles threat caused byhidden safety for the running vehicle are alarmed and warned. In emergency,the vehicle auxiliary braking will be started, at the same time, the vehicle willbrake automatically. Accordingly, the occurrence of traffic accidents will bereduced or avoided, the safety of people’s life and property will be protectedeffectively. It maintains the normal traffic order of social.This paper adopts double CCD stereo cameras as a distance sensor ofvehicle active safety system, in accordance with the image collection,identification, people、cars and other obstacles recognition, car-following,safety warning, the auxiliary brake and brake automatically, that protects andsafeguards the vehicle normal driving safety under escort. Especially themodel of eliminating false alarm and missed alarm when the vehicle is movingin a straight line or turning, is established, so that the vehicle running motiontrajectory can be predicted in advance, what is more, it improves thereliability、 real-time feature and the robustness of the system. As the result,Thereby, the rate of quantity and price of the system is improved effectively,that is in favor of the promotion and popularization of this system.Through comparing all kinds of sensors, such as laser radar、microwaveradar、millimeter wave radar、ultrasonic、infrared、sonar and so on, and canfind that the CCD has great advantage of the rate of quantity and price. Usingdouble CCD for velocity measurement, distance detection, at the same time, ittreats the image processing and recognition of the image of vehicle andpedestrian barriers by the integrated control system-ECU, the comprehensivejudgment of the running state of the vehicle,taking braking measures by the way of the sound-light alarm to remind the driver when necessary, emergencysystem will automatically start the brake system to avoid the collision.This paper is a new attempt to research on vehicle active safety earlywarning system, from the choice of sensor to the automatic vehicle brake andauxiliary brake system, finally aimed at the elimination the false alarm, missedalarm of system and use the MATLAB for designing the implementationprocess of system software and so on,enriched the research contents about thissystem, and have certain guiding significance for theory research and practicalapplication in the future.
