The smooth flow of communication networks is a prerequisite for network security. Currently, most Internet security equipment or network information value-added services equipment have gradually changed the control method from the bypass intervention into the serial control. In order to minimize the network security risks caused by equipment failures, you need a stable, fast intelligent protection system. The system can skip the network security device node which is fails to ensure the smooth of network, and add the node into network when it is recovery automatically. Thus, a non-blocking, high reliability, security, flexibility, and strong anti-failure capability with high self-healing communications network is formed, which is independent and transparent to signal.Based on the actual needs of communication network security, and integrated marketing costs and other factors, this paper designs a intelligent bypass network equipment protection system (Bypass) based on ARM9embedded hardware platform. This paper makes a detailed study on the design of software and hardware according to the structure of the system components, which is based on the analyze of the actual network bypass protection strategies.The main control board use chip AT91RM9200, which is a type of mainstream processor in ARM9series. According to difference of the communication medium optional, sub-board with optical interface or electrical interface can be choosed. The type of sub-board is fully transparent and compatible to the control interface of main board.On the design and curing of System Software Platform, it make focuses on the study of how to optimize the U-boot source to achieve the automatic update system packages and how to achieve scalable system call module; On the implementation system device driver, it introduced how to parse and maintain the MAC address in network card driver in Linux kernel, which is passed by starting arguments bootargs of U-boot. For the design of software application, use modular structure, Socket programming and multithreading programming.After multiple application tests under the actual network environment, it shows that the system can provide a practical, reliable and intelligent solution for the security of important communications network equipment to form a non-blocking, highly reliable, secure and flexible, failure-resistant capability of communication network.And bypass network equipment protection system supports independent monitoring, one-to-many or many-to-one flexible monitoring networking; supports GSM SMS alarm function, timely reporting to facilitate fault intuitive, and the way of alarm can be selected flexible.
