Video surveillance as one of the important means of safety precaution is gettingmore and more attention, and real-time video surveillance has been the mostimportant method, especially the protection for the airport, bank, subway and othersensitive area. Intelligent video surveillance system based on computer vision andvideo analysis is gradually becoming the focus of video surveillance as the demand ofthe instantaneity, veracity and the improving degree of automaticity, and representsthe future direction of video surveillance. Intelligent video monitoring system coulddetect, localize, recognize and track moving objects of the video based on thetechnology of computer vision and video analysis, without control of humans, andmake response according to the target motion information.This paper designs and implements an intelligent monitoring system based ongeneral DSP chip for the demand of video surveillance system to real-time andreliability requirements. It could detect and track the target of video and show thefeature information of the target in display module of PC. The main work of this paperincludes three parts:Firstly, this paper design the hardware platform of the intelligent videosurveillance system based on TMS320C6455, and design the main modules of theintelligent video surveillance system. And this system has the advantages of goodgenerality and good scalability.Then, achieve the including the video image acquisition, image processing andcomputer tracking software design in this hardware platform; and this paper choosethe method of background subtraction which could be realized easily and could meetthe requirement of real-time through contrasting and analyzing the traditionalalgorithm for detecting and tracking the moving target.Finally, debug the current hardware platform, and verify the detection andtracking results of system. summary briefly the completed work combining with thecurrent experimental result, and prospects the future research direction based on theshortage of this paper.
