With the development of society and the improvement of living standards, people proposenew requirements in all aspects of the medical services. Traditional medical model is not able tofully meet the needs of the community. With the development of sensor and electronictechnology and the Internet network, it has grown in importance that medical data transmittedthrough the Internet. Recent years, medical equipment applications based on Wifi are rapidlydeveloping in the medical market.GPRS technology is one of the main ways to widely mentionthe wide-area wireless network connection, and applications related to environmental monitoring,defense and military, health care, manufacturing, and others, has become a hot research topic inthe field of computer and communications. GPRS-based monitoring system is a typicalapplication of the current use of the public network to transmiss data. Real-time monitoringsystem will collect timely data and then transmit to a remote monitoring center, real-timedynamic reporting, to detect and deal with the problem.This paper proposes a project of remote medical monitoring system which combines theWifi and GPRS,based on the GS1010sensor node and the smart phone. The paper focus on theactual combination of wireless transmission and scenes of suspected patients. When patient inthe hospital, the portable sensor node can directly search the Wifi network signal,then connect tothis LAN and transfer the physiological parameters to the server. When patient leaves thehospital, the patient needs to carry a smart phone. Wireless sensor node makes a Ad_hocconnection to PDA and firstly transfers physiological parameters to the phone. PDA connectsGPRS through a dial-up and then the phone will be able to directly communicate with thepublic network and then transmit to the server just received.The system can real-time transfer data to the doctors and nurses, office computer, sent theSMS to the doctor’s hand-held PDA, and facilitate their control of their responsibility to thepatient’s condition.
