Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are a promising new broadband access technology. With thedevelopment of radio technologies, multi-radio and multi-channel mesh networks (MRMC-WMN)are formed when multi-radio and multi-channel technology is applied to wireless mesh networks. Inorder to meet the increasing QoS requirement, the research on channel assignment and routingoptimization algorithm is necessary.Channel assignment and routing optimization algorithm are deeply researched in thisdissertation. The major works are as follows:Firstly, the basic concept, structure, characteristics, technologies, classifications andapplications of WMNs are briefly introduced.Secondly, the research on QoS in WMNs and MRMC-WMN is introduced. Then the researchon channel assignment and routing optimization algorithm in MRMC-WMN is summarized.Thirdly, the channel assignment model based on the connectivity is established according tothe analysis of structure, communication characteristics and interference conditions ofMRMC-WMN. Then channel assignment model based on the connectivity and interference isestablished in condition of interference and a heuristic algorithm is proposed to solve theoptimization model. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.Fianlly, a new routing optimization algorithm is proposed based on the established channelassignment model. The new routing optimization algorithm, based on a new routing metric--LIBATD, is combined with ant colony optimization algorithm and the ant colony optimizationrouting algorithm based on LIBATD is formed. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of thealgorithm.
