With the development and advancement of computer communication technology,micro-electronics technology and sensor technology, Wireless Sensor Network has been presented. As an emerging, multidisciplinary advanced technology, Wireless Sensor Network integrates avariety of advanced technologies and ideas. It brings the virtual world of information together withthe real world, and has brought great convenience to people’s life. Seeing from the research at homeand abroad, many scholars have done a lot of studies in terms of the network topology to makeeffective utilization of the energy of sensor nodes, and have achieved certain results. The studyfound that the hierarchical topology control algorithm based on the “cluster” has high efficiency inbalancing network energy consumption and improving the nodes energy utilization. The effectivenetwork topology control mechanism can automatically generate hierarchical network topology, which can not only make effective use of the limited energy resources of the sensor nodes, but alsofacilitates the management of the node control and the fusion of network sensor data. This thesis presents a new hierarchical pyramidal structure network model, and discusses thedesign ideas and steps of the model in detail, which is one suitable for large-scale network topologymodel. The model constructs an optimal multi-layer overlay network structure, in which each layerselects the appropriate node as a cluster head node based on the optimal network coverage clusterhead election algorithm. The node energy consumption is evenly distributed on the network nodesto balance energy consumption and reduce the probability of nodes in the decline, thereby toprolong the survival time of Wireless Sensor Network. Lastly, the thesis analyses and tests theperformance of this model by network simulation. The experimental results show that the modelcan effectively improve the performance of the wireless network, extend the life of the network, improve the node load balance degree, and achieve higher data transfer rate and lower controloverhead in data transmission.
