With the great development of modern electronic technology, there are strong demands about panoramic imaging system in the field of video surveillance and military frontline reconnaissance. It is an important topic in the domain of the current panorama imaging studies to place lots of CCD cameras in the same coordinate position, capture the images synchronously, and stitch into a high resolution image with large viewing field. In order to get stable and continuous splicing video images of the large field of view, the subject must ensure the multiple cameras working in strict synchronization status firstly. Thus we could assure that the collected video images are captured at the same time for moving targets. The subject uses the video decoder chip-TVP5150to decode the multiple analog video signals and gets4:2:2standard YCrCb digital video format stream. The core controlling module of the acquisition system stores the video stream into the SDRAM with a ping-pong mode. Then, the overlapping parts of captured image are computed and fused. The fused signal is transmitted to the back-end by the coding chip ADV7393and AD9389in accordance with the standard of PAL and HDMI. Of course, before the catching and processing of the video data, the system provides an I2C bus to configure the codec chips in the need mode. The article developed the microcontroller software system by Keil uVision3with C language. This software module completes the MCU initialization procedure and I C bus working function. The module calls this function for I2C bus communication to configure registers of video codec chip. The FPGA hardware language is written to complete the front multi-channel video acquisition, basic stitching, fusing operation, and to send the mosaic data to back-end coding chip in order to be displayed real-time.
